Gallery Haimney Barcelona
To undertake a series of experiences, guided towards researching the interplay between spaces, the senes and how the interaction between these stimulates powerful performances. From this, there was a wish to create a framework that could be used for artists and performers to use in improvisation with an audience.
The experience took place in a gallery, that we had fully transformed, to host an exhibition of touring artists, as well as an interactive experience. In this experience, we immersed the audience in a narrative based around Cinco de Mayo, and gave them a chance to "communicate with the spirits" The mechanics of this "communication, had the audience paint on a blank canvas, with musicians interpreting their strokes in real-time over a sound design created specifically for this event. At the end of the experience each participant was given a custom token of gratitude.
An immersive experience, that led to a full dataset and concept around audience interaction and improvisation, that Nørlum is currently using in the further development of their immersive theatre pieces. "DS has consistently been terrific at looking at the overall project, breaking it down for opportunities, and then applying design to create events or experiences that stay true to the whole while extracting value and meaning in the particular scope of the execution"
